The Long and Winding Road

Hello friends! It's the first week of classes here in UP Mindanao and I'm now a JUNIOR of this University.

My school, the University of the Philippines Mindanao, is located right smack in the outskirts of Mintal, in Davao City. This barangay is about 10 kilometers from downtown. Moreover, UPMin is about 2 kilometers from the main thoroughfare - the Bukidnon-Davao Road or "BuDa", as called by folks who commute to Bukidnon or Cagayan de Oro.

How do I get there? Well, by jeepney and/or the habal-habal or the single motorcycles used for hire. I do only jeepneys when in downtown Davao. Jeepneys exist in UPMin but seldomly as of now, therefore habal-habal is the most preferred but some, if not most, students, faculty and staff.

I usually take the Buhangin via J.P. Laurel Ave. Route to get to downtown. (Buhangin is where I live.)

Many landmarks go into my way to my destination:
 Victoria Plaza
Gaisano Mall of Davao
I then go down to Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas in Quirino Ave., to ride a Mintal-Roxas Ave. jeepney.
Going to Mintal is such a long way, yet exciting. Imagine, many of the landmarks amazed me.

The Bankerohan Market
 NCCC Mall Davao
So much more to mention...the HH, the jeepneys. (I'll mention on the next post.)

...but it all ends up here...

Well, it's business back here in UPMin. See you around!
