eXclusive!: The Seniors' Retreat (Part 4)

Image
After the mass, we went back to MIC Cursillo House to have breakfast. The meal was Hotdogs, Scrambled Eggs and Pandesal. (Yum!) After that meal, we had our final session. Here we summarized the things we have done yesterday. Here we had another activity. We selected an advertisment from a newspaper or mag, and explain something about the message it was expressing to the public. Well... I will tell you more on the Diary Plus. (I will also tell all the contents of all of our activities...) After a while, our parents arrived and gave us a harana . Well, we were really happy, except some. Angelito was sobbing because his parents didn't arrive. :-( Well, it was a happy experience. There we recieved a bookmark and an accessory. Here's the pix: It's a bracelet with a charm which inscript a message: My "heart" belongs to Jesus. (i.e. "heart" is replaced by a drawing of a heart.) Cute, no? After that, the retreat came to an end... but it doesn't stop there. W

By 9:30 p.m., we went into our respective rooms. My room was initially Room 36. My roommates should have been Von and Paul. But things never happened as it should be. I was about to sleep. There I washed up, and changed my clothing. I thought of praying the Rosary before I slept. But the boys outside were too noisy. Never mind... those were just distractions... But, even in my actual silence, people around me were "oh, so noisy". Pero, 'di ako kumibo na nadi-disturbo na ako. 'Di na lang talaga ako kumibo na maingay ang mga tao sa paligid ko. But when Teacher Kenneth saw me praying silently, she thought of something. It was about 10:10 p.m. Teacher Kenneth arrived at our room. She just said, "Gusto mong lumipat?" I was relieved and said, "Opo." I grabbed my things and went for Room 33, the room where Teacher Ken was staying. I put my things on a table in the corner. Then I went by to bed. I prayed to the Lord that I recieved total silence before I s

After lunch, we had our afternoon session. We discussed about our broken self. Here Sister Leonie showed to us a beautiful vase. But when she put it on a table, it was actually split in two. She explains that no matter how beautiful we are, we tend to be broken. Then, we were told to put around our recent pixes the things that we don't appreciate in ourselves. As for me, I included that I was temperamental, impatient, immature, boastful, and judgemental. Also, we put the names of the people I have hurt before. I can't list all of them but the people were my classmates, my teachers, and my family. After that, we were given 30 minutes of silence to talk to God and share to Him our feelings. There I walked into a very remote part of the garden outside the main building. Since no-one can detect me, I closed my eyes, freed my spirit and started my conversation to Him. I told him about the things I did in the past. I told Him that I should change for the better, for the better of m

Hi there folks! Welcome to the eXclusive article about the Seniors' Retreat yesterday and today, Friday and Saturday, February 16 & 17, 2007 at the MIC Cursillo Retreat House, F. Torres St., Davao City. DAY ONE: February 16th Everyone in our batch was there, including Teacher Kenneth, Teacher Divine, Teacher Miamor, Mrs. Rose Cementina, and our Retreat Master, Sister Leonie. We started with an orientation of the rules and regualtions of the regulations of the retreat house. Then, the sessions had started. The first thing we had discussed is Our Beautiful Self. Sister Leonie represented our hearts as vessels (containers). She said that our "vessels" contain things that are very cluttered. There are things that are good; some are bad. We were told to draw a vessel and put inside the things that are essential for the retreat. I first chose/wrote Faith. :-) We do have different vessels. Next, we pasted our baby pix into a sheet of paper and let write the things that

SOMETHING TO SHARE: Controlling Temper

I had this on my Written Diary for weeks. I copied this in a Health & Home Magazine 1991 issue. One thing I found interesting was this article: Seven Steps for Controlling Your Temper. Seven Steps in Controlling Your Temper How do you go about freeing yourself of a temper habit that has had you in its grip for years? ( It's true, I've had it since childhood.) You can do what alcoholics ( Not me! ) have learned to do: 1. You must admit to yourself that you are enslaved, then you must truly want to be free. The happiness of your family, your job ( or school life, in my case ), your friendships, your very life, may depend on your mastering this temper temptation. I admit that I've got those temper tantrums ever since I 've been in my childhood. I need to realize that I have been a prisoner of my own negative emotions. I've got to realize that my relationships with my classmates, my family, and my friends will depend on my self-discipline. 2. Begin to campaign at a
