Dear people, This will be my year-end message for this year 2006. I am really happy that I made this far. Well, this Christmas break was really a SUPER experience! I attended the Simbang Gabi, which I completed them all. The information about this wonderful experience was recorded in The Diary. I took a large amount of time in the Internet café to access my e-mail, my Friendster and this Blogger blog. I just can't explain why I did this. Maybe I'm just happy to be really connected to the world. I subscribed to Yahoo! Answers . There I asked this question that has kept me in the low for such a long time. Click here to read the article about this question in The Diary . Click here to access the question in Yahoo! Answers. (Please disregard the false info about me). If you wanna see more of my questions, look for the Yahoo! Answers Bar in this blog. (You know what, Yahoo! Answers really brought good info to me. I am really blessed!) I visited the residence of one of my pater

The 2007 Resolutions: The Internet

I, Kenneth Bernejay Hermosilla Porio , shall establish this list of resolutions that will be taken action effective January 1, 2007. This contains resolutions that is connected to my connection to the Internet. I shall control the time I visit Internet cafés so as to save money for other needs. But if there is any reason to check any Web service (i.e. E-mail, Friendster, Blogger, etc.), I shall make sure that I can make time to visit the Internet café to access the above mentioned services. If there is a very interesting Web service that I may join, I must decide to join, since passwords and user names will be very complicated if forgotten. If there will be harmful sites that can affect my overall personality, I shall avoid it. If there will be any beneficial commentaries that will make me glad, I shall reciprocate it with gratitude. If there will be criticisms, reply it with humility. This resoultion is posted on the 30th of December, year 2006, at AMC Internet Café, Diversion Road,

Dear friends, HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Last December 15, 2006, I started to join in the Simbang Gabi. I was really happy to experience this because this is my first time to try to complete the 9-day celebration of Masses. I hope and pray that I can complete this on the 23rd. Last December 20, 2006 (that's yesterday, Wednesday, prior to this post), I joined the CDSI Christmas Party. There we had a very fun program that afternoon. (Well, it was hosted by Mikko G. and Meighan S., very funny tandem :-p) I saw that it was a rock concert rather than a "gathering". Anyways, I got my temper rages again that night. When we had our salu-salo in the school grounds, I got to sneak into some of my classmates and started picking some food. One of my classmates then said, "Nagsingit si Kenneth, oh! P***** i***!" Then I got my tantrums and there I go, the temperature has just got to the boiling point again... But well, the situation was cooled down when I got advices from my adviser.

Dear friends, I had a very bad week. My projects were stacking up in a pile and I couldn't concentrate a lot. I got headaches, coughing spells and some sort of temporary insomnia. Well, I was really into the techie side this week because I visited the Internet café four times in a week; this is my fourth time! :-) Also, my mission in the Internet café was to type the English project. How tiring. :-( Well, if you want to send feedbacks at either at my Friendster or at this page, I will be glad to reply. Thank you and Merry Christmas! KENNETH

Something to Share: 3 St. Mark

I remembered a feature article by Mr. Rene Lizada about the CDSI Batch 2005, when they were still in 3rd High School. He wrote about his experience during the recollection of the class some time in March 2004. Here goes: Thursday, March 11, 2004 3 Saint Mark By Rene Lizada Papa's Table "We are trying to learn not to accompany gifts with advice or to suppose that we can protect you from being changed." - W.S. Merwin THE people running Colegio de San Ignacio are doing something right. About two months ago I was invited to give a recollection to the third year class of Colegio. This class is composed of mainly the pioneer students of that school. Their third year section is called St. Mark. I was early when I got to the Presentation of Mary so I had some quiet moments with myself. I walked around and just took in the cold air. A few minutes later, Mrs. Cementina, the school directress, arrived and we had a very engaging talk about a lot of things. It started to rain and I th

Dear Friends, Our Foundation Day Field Demo presentation was very AWESOME! We really had a great time performing the dance. We were really praised by everyone. The first issue of our school paper, CDSIan Star, is now out. I thanked the Lord, our God, for the guidance that He gave to me. Now the fruit of my labor has been realized. (Check out my eXclusive! post in The Diary, as told by KB4U.) I also saw the latest edition of our yearbook, The Ignatians 2006. The yearbook is now fusing the two departments, the Elementary and High School Department. Quite nice, but if you ask for more about this, I would say that there are design flaws and slight errors. In general, I will rate the yearbook 91.15%. I had a bad experience. My emotions flared up again because of my classmates' antics. The labeled me a gesture as "mabaho", with bad odor. I got the emotional instability again that I just suddenly said offensive words. When the top of the emotions stroke on me, I shouted in th

Here's my Cancerian forecast for December: December 2006 Cancer, make some changes at home and in your daily routine on December 1 and 2. With the Moon in your sign on December 6, you'll feel comfortable and secure. However, another influence from Uranus in Pisces will urge you to shake up your routine. Small changes will be enough to bring a fresh perspective. During the week of December 11, you may feel as if your workload or responsibilities are heavier than usual. A deadline will become more important than a social event you were looking forward to. This may even cause some tension with a loved one. You'll want to express your feelings on the weekend of December 16 and 17, but you won't get a sympathetic response. On Tuesday, December 19, you'll get a nice surprise from someone who cares about you. It may not cost a lot, but will be just what you needed. A heavy workload this week will deplete your energy. Spend some quiet time alone on Sunday, December 24, to r

Dear people, It's December! No class today! (Our president moved the "regular holiday" (Bonifacio Day) to today.) Well, I was very skeptical on posting but I'm sure you will be surprised by the thing I had last month: -Last November 18, I gave birth to my Friendster account. Then I was instantly sent a message from my adviser, Teacher Kenneth Razo: How are you? Im fine and very much suprised when i open my mail. How did you know my profile? From whom???? Ken, always remember that i am here, ready to help you. But there is one thing i want you to do - control your emotions. Ignore those people who laugh at you. Believe in yourself. You are smart and great, bear it in your mind always. Dont be afraid to change. See the brighter side of life. Seek the guidance of the Lord everytime you make decisions. I salute you!!!! Here I recieved numerous invites from my batchmates. In just a week, I have 28 friends now. -I set a new record for having the most number of posts this ye

Tired from Field Demo Practice

Hi there! I'm very tired from our Field Demo practices this afternoon (refer to date). Well, the dance that we will perform on December 8, 2006, Friday, are combinations of dances from different time periods. Well, we did it in a form of storyline, narrated by Edmund Gemelo, Jr. First dance will be a rendition of a Micheal Jackson song. Next will be a rendition of 1970s songs, to be performed by the "Retro" group. Then, renditions of a Backstreet Boys song and a Spice Girls song, to be performed by the "Baduy" group. After that, a interpretative dance of the song "Bohemian Rhapsody" will be performed by the "Sosyal" group. Then, my group, the "Hip-hop" group, will perform a modern dance. After that, the finale. During our practices, we spent a hard time practicing the moves. Nakakainis talaga, but it was worth it. Nakak-energize naman 'to e! And you will have more time concentrating! Well, that's all I can say for now. Baka

Dear guys, I'm thinking of a secret project that I will do next year. It will be a Blogger blog especially made for the High School Batch 2007. Here I will make spaces for where my classmates can put posts about their lives. They could put their e-mails, Friendster accounts, or anything imaginable. They can have the authority to dress up the blog. This will be the meeting place where our batch can be in touch with each other. I hope they could give feedbacks. Well... My blog's all dressed up for Christmas! I hope you will all enjoy the fun activities I placed on this blog and my Friendster account (To see my Friendster account, look for "Visit my Friendster profile" on the Friendster tab on this blog.). All of these are courtesy of http://www.pyzam.com/ Hope you will be happy always. KENNETH

Dear Friends, I've changed my mind from what I posted about Friendster yesterday, (11-17-2006). It is because I think that it is time to change everything and I want to express my personality to others. Also, I want to break myself free from the secured walls of my past experiences that locked me in from the REAL WORLD . I hope and pray to Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, that I made the right decisions. I welcome all of you who are reading this post right now to join me in my journey and have the spirit of FRIENDSHIP remain in our hearts. AMEN. Your Friend in the Lord, Kenneth Porio P.S. Dear people, Things went out really roller-coaster at this particular time. Just last Thursday (11-09-06), I recieved my FIRST Certificate of Merit in my 10 years in CDSI. The certificate is for being the Most Helpful stude in the class for the 2nd Quarter. Maybe it's because I've done a great part in encoding the articles of the first issue of our school paper, the CDSIan Star. Well, I reached till the start of the 6:00 p.m. mark just to finish typing. Maybe it's also of my great help with the Chinese teachers. I'm so happy for it. :-) I then recieved my grades on Friday (11-10-06). I observed that most of my academic grades were lowered, but still maintained my Chinese grades up. That's why I felt so unsatisfied with these. Today, I attended the CDSI Family Day. The first thing I did was to attend several check-ups at the free clinic. I had medical and dental check-ups, and blood pressure and Fasting Blood Sugar testings. According to the results, I am very normal

Next Monday, I will go back to class in CDSI. Well, wish me luck for the 2nd Reading of Honors! I hope I will not fail this time... LOOK AT THIS!: Venta5, A Great TV Shopping Hit

Image
Look, ABC5's got something new! It's the newest - the first and the only locally-produced interactive TV shopping show, Venta5 (pronounced /vehn-tah-sing-koh/ ) It features products that cannot be found anywhere else, at the fraction of the cost. One of the best sellers of Venta5 is the Iron Mate Economizer , a Filipino invention. This cuts electric consumption produced by flat irons by over 50%. Isn't that amazing? Just put your flat iron on it and it automatically shuts off the power supply, but it preserves the heat of the iron. Another one is the Mini Spin Twin Tub Washing Machine. It is a twin tub washing machine, but it is half the size (and the price!) of regular washing machines. Great for condominiums, apartments and dormitories. Next is another Pinoy invention, the QB Stove . A very elegant but economical stove that uses charcoal as its fuel. Isn't that good? Want more of the specs of the products shown? This is my forecast for November: Cancer November 2006 Cancer, the first week of the month will bring your emotions to the surface and you may be overly sensitive. Be flexible and see the good in situations, rather than focusing on the negative. The Full Moon in Taurus on November 5 may bring positive outcomes from your past experiences. During the week of November 6, you can freely discuss your feelings with a loved one, especially on November 7. Be careful to consider the needs of others, though. You may have the urge to be more independent and act without considering all the options. There is a caution to be realistic and not indulge in wishful thinking. On Saturday, November 11, your mind will be razor sharp, so this would be a good time to make decisions or work on something that requires concentration. On Monday, November 13, open your mind and try to see your life from a new perspective. Think for yourself and be creative. On November 15, you'll be feeling optimistic and ha

I'm Gonna Take The ACAT!

I finally made a reservation for the Ateneo College Admission Test (ACAT)! Today, I went to Ateneo de Davao University to apply for a reservation to the said test. Just recently, AdDU went to us for a Career Guidance program. I was really convinced to enter the institution. One reason why is that they offer this course: Bachelor of Arts in International Studies, major in Asian Studies. I wanna enter this course because of my proficiency in Chinese and my familiarity with other Asian Languages, especially Japanese and Korean. Another reason why I chose this is because AdDU is somewhat nearby - just ride a jeepney with a route going to Bajada-Acacia-Ponciano (C. Bangoy) and stop at Acacia and just walk through AdDU which is just few meters away from the Acacia Intersection. It is just conveniently located at Jacinto and C.M. Recto Streets. Well, I prayed to the Lord that I can pass the exams. So, wish me luck! If you wanna inquire about how to be admitted, click here . If you want a glim

Reflection: How's My Relationship to Jesus Now?

Here's a poem I made during a CLE reflection activity last October 12, 2006. The task was to make something connection to the statement above. Here goes: HESUS My relationship with Him is losing bliss For I lost the eagerness to listen to His word But my belief strengthens for I am inspired for those instruments that deepened my contact to Him. My prayers become worthwile for I am still enlightened by His love and His eternal grace I've established a relationship through persons who gave me the key to the gate that led me to the Light But how should I continue? This life is losing vitality How should I look up? Darkness envelopes the Light now. Confusions and anxieties I should conquer Confrontations and hatred, I should resolve As I enter another chapter in this life of mine I should remember who guided me to the Saviour Hesus, I should continue continue to be with you till the day of my time to join the souls above. AMEN

In the Horoscope

Here's my forecast on the month of October, according to MSN Astrology: October 2006 Cancer, on October 4, someone creative will force you to think outside the box and be more open-minded. The Full Moon in Aries on October 6 will be challenging in other ways. Someone will bully you about past events, but don't worry, you are not at fault. On Tuesday, October 10, creative thinking will solve a mystery and a problem that has been bothering you. Later in the week, relationships of all kinds will be strained, but you can help others by having compassion and empathy. You'll gain cooperation from friends and coworkers during the week of October 16, but you'll have to push them to get moving. Flattery and bribes are your best bet, but maybe not the most ethical way of getting things done. After the New Moon in Libra on October 22, you should have everyone eating out of your hand, but not without a lot of extra effort. That will be a great day to sell your ideas or use your pow

Prayer for a Special Favour

This is one of my favourite prayers in my prayer book My Golden Prayers I. Here goes: Lord, you have always been faithful to me. In Your infinite love and mercy You have always stooped to listen to me. I come to You now and humbly ask For this special favour (state your favours and/or intentions) I know in Your wisdom it will be helpful For my eternal salvation. At this moment I know That You have set tin motion All the processes of divine love, And caused to hurry to my assistance The spiritusl gifts of Your command So that my petition may be granted. Thank You Lord. Amen. As for my intentions, I say the phrase"that I may/will be..." I pray this prayer if I really have a special favour to the Lord. As the Bible says in Mat. 7:7, "Ask, and you will recieve. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened to you."

What is Appreciation?

Appreciation, according to other sources, is admiration to a certain person, place or thing. Personally, admiring a certain person or object can mean a lot of things. "Crushes", a perfect example of appreciation that may lead to "MU" or "mutual understanding", relationships or even marriage, sexual intimacy. It's normal to have a crush. this is part of appreciating a person. Girls tond to admire a super handsome guy. Boys tend to admire a lovely girl. They may even tend themselves to admire a certain celebrity, local or foreign, to make them "fans". But be very careful, for not all of them are open to accept that they have someone that admires them; and, besides, love relations don't always come and go in a flash. PBB Girls Rule?

Nene Tamayo's a girl. Keanna Reeves is a girl. Kim Chiu is a girl. Did girls really rule in Pinoy Big Brother ? Would it be a possibility that the champion of the Pinoy Dream Academy would be a girl? It's now a fact that boys are totally pasaway. Blame Franzen Fajardo and Jason Gainza on Season 1. Franzern got evicted by force. But for Jason, bumait kaya kabilang siya sa Big Four. In the Teen Edition, Big Bro had to have the sick headache because of the jampacked violation the boys usually do. Why did Gerald Anderson, with the "most number oif violations committed", have not been evicted by force or in any matter? I think that he had sincerely accepted the fact the the violations and punishments are meant to be constructive. Bam Romana, the forced evictee? Huh! Blame hi

VICTORY!

Hi! This is a summary of what I experienced on August 17, 2006 (the date of posting this message), The Davao Historical Quiz Bee. I experienced the most number of praises because of this. It is because I won as the champion of this prestigious contest. During the contest, I answered many tricky questions, but I answered most of them correctly. Nothing had gone wrong during the contest except the slow tallying of scores. The questions were about Davao City and its provinces, but during the Difficult round of this contest, the topics jumped to current issues. Many coaches of the contestants complained about that. Anyways, there were many schools that joined this contest, 49 all in all. This contributed to the shortage of materials and slowing of the score tallying. During the announcement of the winners, there were 2 people who tied the 3rd place, one from Lawana National High School, and one from Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School. The prize was split into two. They only recieved

Discipline

This is another poem made by myself from the original Stellar . It is about what discipline really means. Here goes: Discipline is an art, We should take part, to creatively follow, right from the start. Discipline is an objective, it should not be taken for granted, we should be attentive, we should not be neglectful. Discipline is a mission, we should complete it, we should follow according to its rules and standards. Discipline is a challenge. We should accept it. We should understand How to follow it. Discipline is a journey to achieve success It is a journey to believe, To know and to respect yourself.

The Saint Peter Poems

This is a creation from my original scrapbook, Stellar: Life's Great Journey. Here is a double poem about strength and perseverance, magnificence, truth and beauty. Here goes: I We dreamt of glorious ambitions, We journeyed to defend loyalty, Great journeys indeed. God want us to be loyal to Him, To build good virtues, That makes us, His creation, A great advantage. God, the Ruler of Heaven, Calls us to make peace. So we should say, "We stand upright, And we should not fall." We should build our lives wonderfully, For integrity of all nations. For God made us Wonderfully and fearfully. II Our lives should be beautiful, magnificent, And graceful. Though truth hurts, It makes us wonderful. For it is an elegant treasure for us to give. When we say the truth, Our lives will be well and fine looking, For we call ourselves enduring heroes, That makes us the magnificent of all. We should be friendly and generous, So we shine like jades and pearls, We bloom like brillian

Hope is Never Away

Hello again! This is a reply to a poem on a school publication in Davao del Sur. The poem in the publication was about a broken heart, and now here is my reply and this can be a poem to all broken-hearted people. Here goes: Many times I've tried to understand, Why you felt so bad When I asked you you can't just hide that feeling. The pains in your heart, Your sorrows in your mind, You thought you want to be blind, for the truth that never lies. Loving someone may hurt you, When a man doesn't love you back. You must take all these risks, Never be afraid to loved and to be hurt again. To overcome your pains, Remember the one you've always loved, Turn back to the one up above, He will heal every pain you felt. This poem is for you my friend, For you must never stop hoping, Never wait no longer, I am here to comfort you.

SPECIAL POST: I AM AN IGNATIAN! - My First Weeks as a Senior

Hi! This is a special post about me and my school, Colegio de San Ignacio. This school is located at Diversion Road, Buhangin, Davao City, Philippines. This is a private (if not exclusive) school. This school offers quality education and also offers Chinese language. I am currently a senior high school student; my class adviser is Ms. Kenneth Razo. You know what? My first two weeks in CDSI were very very exciting. I met several people, from students to teachers, old and new. First, there was an orientation, which the teacher will introduce us to the new policies and rules. I met again my classmates from last year, and we were really happy. Now, it's my first week of classes. I now met teachers from different subjects. Our tradition of entiltle teachers is, female teachers are placed with a title "Teacher" and male ones are entitled with "Sir", then followed by their first names. First on my list is my class adviser, Teacher Kenneth. She teaches Araling Panlipuna

Angat si Aldred!

Image
OK, Aldred Gatchalian , was the first one to leave the Pinoy Big Brother house. But wait, is he "in the drain" after the voluntary exit due to his BIG problems upon entering the house? Think Again ! He's been put into one of Sam Milby's concert tours! What's his secret? HIS SINGING VOICE! According to a showbiz columnist of a tabloid dated May 31, 2006, Aldred is always invited by show promoters to perform in out-of town shows. It is because the columnist's friend who is also a columnist of the same tabloid discovered the to-be 16-year-old boy (His b-day is 14 June) and caught singing at a comedy bar in Quezon City, Metro Manila and he put him immediately as a guest performer in the Sam in A Million concert in Jaro, Iloilo City on June 10, 2006. (Blame his performance on the Big Night last June 3 when he sang " A Dream Is A Wish ", one of the songs of the Disney film Cinderella .) No wonder his good looks (and voice!) made him the most special and

You're More Than We Saw

Image
Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition's Big Winner is the Chinese Cutie from Cebu, Kim Chiu. Here is a poem dedicated to her. It may not be in Chinese, but this is sure to inspire her. Here goes: You entered, You smiled, You confesses, you cried, You laughed, we laughed, You left, We cried with joy. Now you are out, out of seclusion, out of illusion out of depression, Everything has changed, feelings have changed, life has changed. In that night, you were the chosen one. Chosen to be different, chosen to be strong, chosen to be true, chosen to be the One. You're more than we saw, You are a person of good change, you're a person of strength and courage. ~0~ Know more about Kim and the Philippine Version of Big Brother at www.pinoybigbrother.com .

School's Back!

School is back, so here's my poem about coming back to school. Here goes: School's back! Another time has begun. After a long summer rest, It's time to come back to my desk once more. Classes back! Another schedule has begun. After those slumbering, It's time to come back to my desk once more. Classmates and teachers are back! Another adventure hs begun. After those long out-of-town trips, It's time to come back to the campus once more. I am back! Another challenge has begun. After the summer days and nights, It's time to come back to school once more. ~o~ Remember, studes, study your lessons! Don't just study hard, Study Smart!
