Convictions of the StellarBoy (Part 5)

Image
This is my final conviction for this posting series. Let's take a break and see a trailer of UPCAT - The Movie, a CinemaOne original movie. A story of one student who dreams to be in the University of the Philippines; i.e., by taking the University of the Philippines College Admission Test or the UPCAT. The catch phrase: " Ito and kwento ng sukatan, pasikatan, at shaded circles . " The scenario is based in UP Los Baños, but the situation applies in all campuses in the System. I'm proud I've passed the UPCAT and entered UP. :-) This time, I wanna confess everything I've done all this time: I turned back to God through many people. My life has been in "recovery mode" since I entered UP Min. I have gained friends who, in their way, praise the Lord for His wonderful Presence, who made ways to sing and dance to worship Him. Their voices grabbed my attention to turn back into Him. There I started to experience spiritual freedom. I began to read the Holy

I'm beginning to love my course . I don't know why I am beginning to become passionate with it, even though my forte is really not into Mathematics, the foundation of Computer Science. But because of the influence of YoungMah (Ms. Mayang Mata. Duh, haven't I told you last time?), my love-at-first-sight of the Linux operating system, the beauty of the C/C++ programming languages, my very inspiring (oh, yeah?), very intelligent ( aminin!) , very fun course-mates, whether they're freshies or my fellow up-class, I really prove that our Computer Science family in UPMin is not just about numbers, codes and other geeky things, not just about the competition, it's also about pure, clean, FUN! I'm thinking of myself if I want to help the freshies get up with the difficulties we encountered during that second semester in our time when we too were freshmen. Their instructor in their major subjects CMSC 11 (Introduction to Computer Science), CMSC 56 (Discrete Mathematical

So This is UP... Around is a green pasture, Everywhere is Green. But there is Maroon, People fighting for a Better Life. Where Future Lies... Anything happens here... A school of variety A school of Freedom Everywhere a diverse life. So This is UP... Where I Belong.  UP Min is full of greens, trees there, grass everywhere. Everything is abundant here. Mediocre? Now I wanna assess the performance of the current Freshmen (Batch 2008) in UPMin, specially from the BSCS degree program. I did a Correlation and Regression Analysis on the relationship of their pre-final standing of MATH17 to their pre-final standing of MATH1/MST3. Here are my gathered data, based on their MATH17 and MST3 Pre-Final grades as of last week, respectively (in no particular order). This is one of my applications from what I have learned from STAT1. Let X be the pre-final grade of 2008 BSCS students in MATH17. Let Y be the pre-final grade of 2009 BSCS students in MATH1/MST3. 25.36; 22.44 60.99; 67.55

Academic life is tedious and a lot of bloodshedding, but definitely fun. I was a little intimidated with MATH17 (College Algebra and Trigonometry) at first glance. In my high school days, Math was not really my forte, but I had to conquer it in college. But what had influenced me to love Math? It's the music and the smarts of YoungMah - Ms. May Anne Mata. Her passion for UP and her music made me wanna raise up my love for UP more. It's always awe-inspiring for me. During our last session, where we had a presentation per group about what's good about Math, Ma'am Mayang, as we call her, did a rap as a finale presentation. We, as an audience had a great time. I hope that the freshies would love her, too, 'cause she's their MATH26 instructor next semester. As my Komsai life progresses, I just thought that the road would be smoother along the way. CMSC 11 and CMSC 56 were fairly easy. MATH26, because of inspiration, still gave me a 3.0. I absorbed along the C languag

What made this semester so meaningful? Three semesters have passed by and... a quote from Renzy Benzy about his BSB life: Three semesters had passed and I had just realized one important thing: I have made a wise decision on choosing my path in college. I didn’t regret of taking BS Bio, even how tedious the life is. Being a Bio student is not that easy and it’s not a joke. Aside from making risky decisions, one is highly susceptible of any kind of sickness due to accumulated stress. How about me? I also realised that important thing Renzy said. I also made a wise decision on choosing my path in college . I never regretted that I took BS ComSci, no matter how tedious this life is. ComSci ain't an easy one...never, ever a joke. All risks on conquering any challenge may come to fore a time to rest from the accumulated stress. In my High School life, I was stuck between these career paths: computers and linguistics . I don't know if my NCAE results reflected it right. I'm i
