A Piece of Relief

Image
Dear Friends, It's the final week of classes in UP Mindanao. I am still scared to blog these days because I have lots of debts in my ILC/LRC Account. :-( I recently paid PHP 500.00 just to ease up my debts. From my savings and some generosity from my uncle (who came in our home in Davao for his wedding last Friday (09-21-2007)) and from CDSI through my works in the Chinese Department, I still have quite a number of money fit to survive the last 3 days of classes for the semester. I am here to make my print works and do this blog post (*sighs*) and make minor changes in my social networks. This is what I will do the last in ILC/LRC before I will go back to my suki Internet café back in Buhangin to do such works and finally touch a PC back at home (soon...). Anyways, my last (and final) class will be MST3 on Thursday (09-27-2007), 05:30 pm-07:00 pm. After that, I will attempt to go back home. I will try to attend the Teachers' Day Celebration at CDSI on Friday (09-28-2007). (Whe

MST4 is such a challenging subject - you should be exposed to lots of readings. AH1 is quite OK if you're good at writing. SSP3 is also challenging - you base philos

"define:meme"

Dear guys, Ate Tina and others within the blog network has this word in the blogging jargon... "Meme". I googled "define:meme", and the definitions are here below: an idea, project, statement or even a question that is posted by one blog and responded to by other blogs. Although the term encompasses much of the natural flow of communication in the Blogosphere, there are active bloggers and blog sites that are dedicated to the creation of memes on a regular basis www.fzelders.nl/weblog/ A unit of cultural information that represents a basic idea that can be transferred from one individual to another, and subjected to MUTATION, CROSSOVER, and ADAPTATION. www.agsm.edu.au/~bobm/teaching/SimSS/glossary.html viral encapsulated idea, with built-in feedback loop. www.awaredesign.co.nz/glossary.html As defined by Richard Dawkins in The Selfish Gene (1976): "a unit of cultural transmission, or a unit of imitation." "Examples of memes are tunes, ideas, catch-ph

A Dose of Medicine

Image
Dear friends, I hope you were not waiting too much for my latest post. I've been too sickly lately because of LBM (loose bowel movement), headaches, and some fever. Today, I still have to take my medications to address my sickness even here in UP Mindanao. I wasn't allowed to go back in UP Min last Monday because of it. I pray that this would go away immediately; I just can't concentrate a lot if my abdominal pains are just too frequent. ~*~ 71% How Addicted to Blogging Are You? I was really shocked after taking the online quiz and posting this widget. Maybe I need a dose of 'medicine' to alleviate my 'addiction' to blogging. <:-( (Help, Ate Tina ...) ~*~ I still have to study for the exams and quizzes that will come by in the following days: MST3, MATH17, MST1, SSP2... The SSP4 exams last Saturday were quite difficult for most of us under Sir Raffy Jones Sanchez. I hope I would not fail, otherwise, so be it. Good luck for our final exams. :-/ ~*~ Last F

Dear friends, especially the Iskolars ng Bayan, I am deeply moved by the wonderful, happy, but short life of our ka-Isko , Cris Anthony Garcia Mendez, a 4th Year Public Administration student in the National College of Public Administration and Governance (NCPAG) of the University of the Philippines-Diliman. Quoted from his Friendster account, and a blog: Picking up a line from a Tagalog movie, he would describe himself as “ Parang karinderia na bukas sa lahat ng gustong kumain. ” - Touched by An Angel A friend of Cris shares the story of him described as " Ang lalaking mukhang bao ang buhok " Quoted from " The Warrior Lawyer ": ... This is not the first time a U.P. student has died while undergoing frat initiations and, I fear, it won’t be the last ... ... A frat (and sorority) culture is deeply woven into the fabric of the political and social life of U.P. There are dozens of recognized fraternities and sororities in Diliman and other campuses within the U.P.

Hello there, friends! It's a new month and it's another time for Cancer, Goat & Life Number 1 forecasts! CANCER (by Astrology.com) A harvest Moon appears brighter to the eye than any other full Moon. It's the closest full Moon to the autumnal equinox, and a traditional symbol of benevolence and fertility. Farmers finished their work in the fields by the light of this Moon. Its appearance, usually toward the end of September (this year on September 26), marks the beginning of the end of harvest season and the start of a new life cycle. The symbolic meanings of the harvest Moon have been celebrated throughout the ages and across cultures. Its significance as a harbinger of new beginnings hasn't diminished a bit -- even if harvest time these days is more a feeling than a literal event for most. Indeed, the crispness of autumn inspires a feeling of change and renewal, and the intense, gold-orange shine of the harvest Moon seems to lend energy, strength and vitality to t
