Dear friends, It's another day of adventure in UP Mindanao. Yesterday, we had a interesting lesson in AH3. It was about Nonverbal Communication. I learned that the eyes, physical appearance, touching, gestures, clothing and a lot others affect what we communicate to others. In MATH17, Ma'am Mayang discussed with us about Solving Linear Equations using Matrices. (flashback: Sir Ramil taught us about this System! Oh, what could go wrong if you did study at CDSI?) In SSP4, we discussed about Prof. Myfel Paluga's paper about the " Pakikingatngat, Pagbubunganga, at Pagkagat sa Meron ". We realised that we should make a stand on making a theory. We should not be too shallow or too deep in applying historical contexts to our theories. ~*~ Tap this Crazy Drunk Guy over here to stop sober himself and be intoxicated for the rest of his life so he could blabber and blog... Ate Tina could need some smiles to lighten up while in her thesis. (Good luck, Ate!) BS Bio guy Char

It's A New Day...

Image
Dear friends, I am just feeling happy about myself today. I just made short but lovely (web translated...) statements... in many languages... La vie est douce… La vie est abondante… Dans un monde complètement de la perte… Il y a d'abondance immobile… restant éternellement… -<* ~*~ I just made another reaction paper for SSP4. Pretty boring...perhaps... :-( nothing more to explain... ~*~ The Student Activities & Organizations Section of OSA has refurnished their bulletin board. Ma'am Liza told me to help with the redecorating by searching for cute clip-art

A Weekend at School...Far from Home

Image
Dear friends, It's my first weekend staying at EBL. I have to meet with the UP Min University Student Council tomorrow because I joined in their Secretariat Committee. (*sighs*) I don't have that much money in my wallet anymore. :-( But, I'll try to save. (I saved my money in going home.) ~*~ I skimmed through the UPCAT 2007 results and searched for the results of my fellow CompSci studes and looked if some were not originally qualified as a BS Computer Science student in UP Mindanao (and know their full name). Karen Rachel J. San Pablo , from Philippine Science High School - Southern Mindanao Campus, the UP Min freshie who had the highest UPG (University Predictive Grade) in UPCAT 2007 was not originally qualified for UP Min. She was actually qualified for the BS Food Technology in UP Diliman! (wow! Nag-FoodTech sana siya dito... pero usually daw , ang nagkaroon ng Highest UPG na nag-enroll sa UP Min ay nag- CompSci. Good thing. :-) ) Her Pisay-SMC fellows Jon Henly O. S

Rewarding Friendships

Dear friends, I just tried Imeem and I am so happy that I found streaming music. :-) For this time, I feature sampler jazz instrumentals. I just love the vibe of jazz because I am well-inspired by African-Americans who ventured to invent this type of music. I am still improving my Imeem site. (Can you help me find someone related to me to be my Imeem friend? Can you help me find classical music samplers?) ~*~ I am happy that I've befriended some people in the Office of Student Affairs: the EBL dorm (Student Housing Section) manager, Ma'am Liza; the Counseling & Testing Section head, Ma'am Pamela; EBL Houseparent, Kuya Allan; University Nurses, Nurse Cet-cet & Nurse Weng; and Ate Ivy, Front Desk. I still have need know more of Dr. Eve Ayson, the Director, and Ma'am Jane, who manages the Scholarships & Financial Assistance Section. (But I've acquianted them...) ~*~ I've recovered from the failures in MATH17. I have just improved in my skills in s

Boring Monday...

Image
What a boring Monday... I just opened a Wikipedia account. I am just darned sad about the Wikipedia entry about the Univerisity of the Philippines, Mindanao. It's just a short four-paragraph entry, and it's not even regarded as a stub! I wanna make it more lengthy than it is now. It's a premiere institution, you know. ~*~ Last Saturday, we had the super-lengthy SSP4 examinations. It was a mind-boggling exam indeed. Lots of reasoning to make and our opinions and knowledge count. ;-/ ~*~ Nothing super special about my blog... except that I already made a poll about your favourite fragrance tone. Read on in the Communication section. ~*~ It will be another week of fun, excitement, worries, and survival. See you again as I end this super short entry. KENNETH

Mga Sawikain: Pangalwang Yugto

Image
If you don't understand Tagalog or Filipino well, I would like to thank you for your support for my blog. I saw in my statistics that there are almost 50 views who read my entry about Filipino idiomatic expressions. I saw that they (or maybe you) came from Google or any search engine just to look at these idioms and their meanings.

Hardships...

Dear friends, Ate Kakay Carreon of BA Anthropology answered my invites in my social networks. (However, she invited me to be her Multiply contact.) Thanks a lot, Ate ! Keep visiting! Sir Raffy Jones Sanchez accepted my invite to be his Friendster and Multiply contact. Ma'am May Anne Mata accepted my Friendster invite, too. Let me quote Sir Raffy's blog entry about his teaching experience in another institution, Ateneo de Davao University, where he teaches Psychology. "...Now, as a teacher, I strive to be as painstakingly patient as my teachers had been. I am driven by one intention in mind: to transfer my learning and inspire students... my students in this class could afford to display such arrogant behavior of putting up a solid face while failing to read the assigned readings; and, apparently unsatified with such a mediocrity, they could even afford to exhibit the misdemeanor of disregarding the teacher. In the middle of the lesson, they chose to fool around...and i

TOFI: Not A Sweet Thing...

Image
Here's my post from my Friendster blog : Munch on Tofi Luk and savour its rich, creamy chocolate covering its wafer with a combination of smooth caramel and crunchy nuts... Ooohhh, tempting... But, when I say TOFI , i.e. Tuition and Other Fee Increases , imposed on the UP System, it is not Luk , I mean "Luck". Yeah, UPCAT takers, passing this test is really Luck, but when you're surprised at looking at the pre-admission documents, you see that the fees force you to say, "It'll be lucky if you have money like that to pay those fees." TOFI isn't rich, sweet, smooth and crunchy. It's just a plain old spoiled 'chocolate bar' too bitter to be eaten. Look, for example, only in UP Mindanao, 500+ freshie studes qualified for admission, 300+ confirmed, but 203 studes enrolled. Maybe that TOFI is such a unLUcKy thing. Malas! I'm one of the 203 LUcKy ones who can afford those fees and experience UP life. :-| Poor unLUcKy people wh
