Losing the Chance

In today's current economic situation, many of this year's UPCAT passers would shun off the opportunity to study in the National University, the University of the Philippines.

With the tuition fees that skyrocketed since 2007, it has been a struggle for the poor but deserving students to enter the University. With the continuing reduction of the education budget by the past and present government, the University's population has slowly becoming from those who are well-to-do and deserving.

GMA News TV's State of The Nation files a report about a UPCAT passer who desired to enter UP Diliman, but unable to enter due to insufficient funds.

This is a wake-up call to all University students to see the reality that many potential people are unable to enter UP because of the expensive and exorbitant tution and other fees. They wish to be in our spots. They wish to be a cream of the crop. They wish to serve the people. But they can't.

Be responsible. Make the best of this opportunity. Let us be the true Iskolar ng Bayan the nation deserves.

Para sa Iskolar ng Bayan,
KENNETH
