Friends,

What's new? What's hot? What's not? What's in today?

Dorm Life = Fun

Last Monday, we had our Dormitory Acquaintance Party. Even in the rainy atmosphere, we still had a lot of fun being with the people of the EBL Dorm. We made some noise from all those karaoke singing (I am one of those "good singers".), parlour game playing, and chit-chatting all night long. Our dinner together was really sumptuous. (wow, ha!) It was totally successful. Thanks to the efforts of Kuya Jed (BSB) & Kuya Clement (BACA). You're the best!!!

Now my official room mates (as of this post):
Now, I'm not alone, y'eall! (pahabol: See you in CMSC123, Kuya Kelz!)

The Li'l Science Workshop

PHYS3 Lab: Our lab instructor is new in UPMin, Mr. Jess Claire R. Sanchez. We first had lectures on Vector Addition, Errors and Uncertainty in Measurement and Instantaneous and Average Speed. Then we had our first of 3 laboratory experiments. We first took the experiment on Instantaneous Velocity. In this experiment, we took use of the Science Workshop 750 software on one of the PCs available in the laboratory, together with the peripherals/equipment we have to use for the experiment. On the experiment, we worked with a magnetic cart passing through an inclined plane with "photogates" that measure the instantaneous speed.

However though, the PC was a mere Pentium 200 running Windows 95. But I'm used to legacy PCs; software then was much simpler to handle than those of today. I even wondered how other students in our PHYS3 class could manage with a Win95 system? (In one of our lectures in CMSC21, we we told that programs then were have to be written that it would save expensive memory and disk space. Today, programs are now written to maximize the now cheap memory and disk space.) I'm contented with UPMin has, but what can be improved?

The night when the freshmen have to be initiated to the "family"... the Torch Night, this Friday, June 27, 2008, at the Atrium, Admin Bldg., UPMin.

That's all folks!

KENNETH
